We had a fantastic Action Day on Fridaythe15th of February. We enjoyed

plenty of songs and music in assembly and even had a fashion show. Fourth
and fifth class had a visit from a local bee keeper and got to taste honey
straight from a hive!
Sixth class stretched their legs with a walk through Piperstown wood. Third
class helped in the construction of some beautiful birdboxes, which will be
painted and put up around the school.
The children had some super costumes on the day and the Green Schools
Committee were amazed at the effort the children and their parents made.
Thank you so much to all who contributed in making the day such a success.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are currently working on the fifth green flag for our school. The committee have been working hard thinking of ideas and putting plans into action BUT we need your help! We are asking all families to think of a Green Code (slogan) that can be displayed around our school. The current theme is BIODIVERSITY.

What is biodiversity?

  • Biodiversity comes from two words: bio which is short for biology (living things) and diversity (variety).
  • Biodiversity means the mixture of all life on earth.
  • It includes all the species, habitats and ecosystems (including humans) which exist on our planet.

Examples of slogans:

The children will have no written homework on Wednesday 26th September, to allow them time to create their catchy slogan. Please return your entries by Friday 28th September.

We had a very successful Action Day on Friday February 5th. All the children made a great effort dressing up for our travel theme. We also had access to an electric car on the day. The Green Schools Committee have been working so hard this year and we couldn’t do it without them.

We are also taking part in the Big Travel Challenge(running from the 1st to the 12th February). Many families are making huge efforts to carpool and our numbers are slowly increasing. A big thank you for all your support.

Remember, It’s cool to carpool!
